Friends will no doubt be interested to learn more about the history of Park Lime Pits. Let us start by looking at maps of the area, very kindly sent to us by our Facebook friend and map wizard, William Roberts or for those who know him on Twitter, @BrownhillsBob. Thanks Bob ... these are fascinating.
The Friends are dedicated to the conservation and protection of the wildlife of Park Lime Pits Local Nature Reserve and Lime Pits Farm.

In the beginning...

The Friends are just an ordinary group of people who love Park Lime Pits, Lime Pits Farm and the adjacent surrounding countryside including the section of the Daw End Branch Canal from Daw End Bridge to Riddian's Bridge. Our aim is work on conserving and protecting the species and habitats of the area for the enjoyment of the local people.
We hold regular meetings and everyone is welcome to attend. These meetings will be publicised here, on our twitter account and also our Facebook Group. Please do come along. We promise a warm welcome. Meetings are usually held in The Manor Arms.
We have already organised lots of events for this year and again these will be publicised. Usually events are free but a small donation is always welcome!
We want to make Park Lime Pits a safe and welcoming place for everyone. We happen to think it's a pretty special place and we want to keep it that way. You can contact us directly through our email friendsofparklimepits@gmail.com
